It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

What I'm looking for:
Everything! Wolves, foxes, fennec foxes, ferrets, servals, bobcats, tigers, other big cats, small cats, deers, dragons, gryphons, dogs, birds, hybrids, original species.. bring it!
I'm leaving the details to your imagination, but here are some things I really like:
-White base color with black and red markings<33 (mostly on canines)
-Cute and fluffy things! No need to go all big eyes and oversized heads, but animals with fur. Creepy and slimy things just aren't my thing.. Still don't be afraid to make something dark/evil
-Anything tribal
-Native american stuff
-Feathers!
-Tawny, golden, brown, white, red, blue, cyan, gray, black (well, not all combined)
-I like more natural base colors, but with smaller markings in unnatural colors like blue or red

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you  finally  made  the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq  to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean  more quality to the paintings, am i right?. 
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only  to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Secret Santa + The Big Christmas Challenge

Secret Santa gallery folder now available.  Submission limit of 1 per day to try and catch out the spammers.  

Have noticed group submissions have been a bit weird of late, if it tells you to retry then it probably has worked, if your image hasn't appeared and you haven't had a reply after a day or so send me a note or comment and we will sort it out.

When you submit your secret santa picture please put your person's username in the title so that they can find it easily.


Ok, well hopefully I haven't missed anyone, I including everyone who mentioned Secret Santa in their comment, that is all the notes sent out.  I pulled the names out of my pinstripe hat, the only person who had to draw for themselves being *TheBlack-Arrow hehehe, no actually I put that back in the hat and drew again.  Quite impressed with how well it worked.  

So now check your notes, you all have a name and I'm pretty sure its worked out random so the person you draw for will be drawing for someone else.  Read your note for instructions and if you get stuck for ideas please send me a note and I'll try and help you find a dragon to draw.

The Big Christmas Challenge
Well everyone seems to be busy, entries have been less recently and Christmas is always busy so I have combined November and December. This will also mean that if you do want to use your dragon for Christmas Cards (I checked all the stock rules and this should be possible but please do read their rules first to be sure) then you will have time.  Should also mean we have more time to work on our Secret Santa dragons.

Don't worry, its not all Christmas stock for those of you who don't want to draw a Christmas dragon/don't celebrate Christmas.

My current balance is: 1464 points, this will be used to buy next year's subscription which is about 9700 points.  

Note: points must be sent to :iconscellanis: as group points not enabled yet.

You have until the end of December to submit your entry to the Big Christmas Challenge 2010 folder.



As usual you may do a dragon based on 1, 2 or even all of the pictures.
Please make sure you read and follow the individual stock artist's rules for the picture you choose.
If you plan to make Christmas Cards you MUST note your chosen stock artist and credit the images correctly.  They enjoy seeing what people can make from their stock.

You must credit the stock image in your own image description.

1. Must be new and your own work, please credit all stock used and follow the individual stock artist's rules.
2. Must contain at least one dragon.
3. Must be able to explain how the picture fits the challenge.

Well if your challenge entry is your Secret Santa please don't submit it to DA and the group untill December because I'm not opening the Secret Santa gallery untill December seeing as November is far too early for opening Christmas presents. Do not want to spoil the surprise since you have to name the dragon after your person so they can find it.
